I was locking the door on a hockey rink, the big swining zamboni door, I was sliding metal beams into braces, and it was tough. I loved the look and feel of the bars: insanely strong and not at all brittle. You'd need a car going at least 20 before you bent these guys.
it occurred to me that somewhere in the old testament (OT) god said "I will strengthen your gates, oh jerusalem." and things like that, right? Just general "I will protect you."
go research some of those old gates. massive things. beautiful, epic. (close to the way I use the word 'epic' wistfully, but not quite). god protects us like THAT.

this puts a whole new spin on "a mighty fortress is our God"
boom! set in stone, rock solid. insanely dense leaden wall towering over your head as gods foot steps in front of you. you are enclosed, warm on your sides, by his fortress (his foot is the huge wall - remember God is big) HA! he says. you shall not touch my children.
